Apprenticed instruction in the traditional building trades that feature stonework and bricklaying, with a focus on the design, engineering, and building of structures of enduring beauty and utility, using heritage methods and materials. Related experience in slating (roofing using cut slate) and plastering will be included in the apprenticeship. These courses will develop a thorough understanding of physical principles, and will feature regular field-experience trips to study historic structures.
