THIS LESSON BLOCK IS STILL ACCEPTING REGISTRATIONS

OFFERED through The Fellowship of Arts & Mysteries as a non-diploma-track, self-paced series of private lessons to adult and teen learners in the broader community who are interested in the ancient art of making bespoke shoes. These blocks of daytime lessons give casual learners the opportunity to receive instruction in traditional techniques of shoe- and boot-making without formal enrollment in our secondary Classical school, Collegium Kingsgate. Instruction is led by skilled, traditionally-apprenticed shoemakers.
Prerequisite experience – Leatherworking 101 class or equivalent.
Helpful experience – “St. Hugh’s Bones” tool maintenance class, or equivalent.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- These blocks of dates for lessons are offered throughout the year to incoming and existing students for pre-registration.
- While blocks offered vary between two and four days available, a typical block of lessons for a student will be 2-3 days, generally of six hours each day.
- Typically, no more than three students per lesson is permitted, except under special arrangement with the instructor. Accordingly, although pre-registrations for a given block of lessons can be accepted until 15 days prior to the first date of the lesson block, it is highly advisable to pre-register as far in advance as possible to ensure one’s place.
- When you pre-register, we will send you a follow-up email to confirm your registration. If you do not receive this email within four business days, please check your spam folder before emailing us to enquire.
- When a class has reached capacity, this will published in bold red font on the class posting. If still interested in this block of dates, please reach out to us to be placed on a wait list.
